About us
WordPress VIP, part of Automattic (the open source powerhouse behind WordPress.com, Tumblr, and much more), is the leading enterprise CMS, combining the unparalleled WordPress user experience with top-grade infrastructure and world-class support, and serving billions of web requests per day.
We help the world’s largest companies (including Meta, Salesforce, Al Jazeera, Capgemini, and hundreds more) create innovative experiences online. We give them the key insights they need to ensure that their content reaches its potential.
As some of the biggest brands on the web, our customers are often defining and evolving models for using WordPress at scale. The WordPress VIP team helps our customers get the most out of WordPress. We guide successful launches, monitor security and performance, develop tools to improve our platform, provide industry-leading customer support, maintain our growing global infrastructure, build strong customer relationships using our expertise, and more. And we’re the only enterprise WordPress platform that’s achieved FedRAMP authorization—the U.S. federal standard for cybersecurity risk management.
We’re a diverse group of people from a wide variety of backgrounds who bring excellence in communication and problem-solving, plus a passion for learning. Our teams rely on skills in software engineering, sales and business development, product design, customer success, and more to help our customers and partners do amazing things with WordPress. Our company is completely distributed (remote-first and -only), so we work from anywhere we can find a good broadband connection, and we meet up a few times a year in different spots around the globe.
About you
If you want to join the WordPress VIP team, you should be passionate about building partnerships; collaborating to solve complex problems; and helping innovative organizations run some of the most high-profile, high-traffic WordPress sites out there. You’re an amazing communicator. You’re proactive, you get things done with minimal or no direction, and you rarely pass up a chance to learn something new.
We’re serious about increasing diversity in the tech industry. We want to build Automattic as an environment where people love their work and show respect and empathy to those with whom we interact. Diversity typically includes, but is not limited to, differences in race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, political and religious affiliation, socioeconomic background, cultural background, geographic location, physical disabilities and abilities, relationship status, veteran status, and age. To work on diversity means that we welcome these differences and strive to increase the visibility of traditionally underrepresented groups. Diversity, equity, & inclusion at Automattic
We’re improving diversity in the tech industry. At Automattic, we want people to love their work and show respect and empathy to all. We welcome differences and strive to increase participation from traditionally underrepresented groups. Our DEI committee involves Automatticians across the company and drives grassroots change. For example, this group has helped facilitate private online spaces for affiliated Automatticians to gather and helps run a monthly DEI People Lab series for further learning.
DEI is a priority at Automattic, though our dedication influences far more than just Automatticians: We make our products freely available and translate our products into and offer customer support in numerous languages. We require unconscious bias training for our hiring teams and ensure our products are accessible across different bandwidths and devices.
