As a Parse.ly customer will there be a change in how I’m being supported?

No, in fact you’re going to get even more love and support! Parse.ly customers will benefit from working with WordPress VIP’s Customer Success organization, which offers 24/7 global support, industry leading ticket response times, and uptime SLAs of 99.99%. We will also offer our white-glove concierge practice to help Parse.ly enterprise customers grow, scale, and succeed. Please reach out to our support if we can help.

I’m a Parse.ly customer who doesn’t run on WordPress, what does this mean for me?

Parse.ly will remain agnostic in terms of the Content Management Systems it supports. Whether you use Drupal, Adobe, Sitecore, or an in-house CMS, Parse.ly will continue to work across all of them. Customers will not need to make any changes to their technology stack to continue to realize the value of Parse.ly. The deep engineering expertise that Automattic and WordPress VIP bring to Parse.ly customers will result in faster feature enhancements and product innovation.

As a partner will there be a change to how I work with the company?

There won’t be any changes to how partners work with either Parse.ly or WordPress VIP. This acquisition will bring an exceptional opportunity for partners to leverage new content insights from the combination of platforms to better serve their customers and help them drive more impact and growth.

What will happen to Parse.ly pricing?

There are no immediate plans to adjust pricing. Parse.ly will remain available as a standalone product and as an add-on to the solution set that WordPress VIP currently offers. Any active proposals or renewals you are currently discussing with the Parse.ly team will be honored.

What will happen to the Parse.ly brand?

For the time being, the Parse.ly brand will be retained and in the interim be referred to as “Parse.ly, part of the WordPress VIP family.”

Who will lead Parse.ly at WordPress VIP?

Nick Gernert, CEO of WordPress VIP, will continue to lead both WordPress VIP and Parse.ly. The Parse.ly founders Sachin Kamdar and Andrew Montalenti have both joined WordPress VIP.

What will happen to the Parse.ly employees?

The Parse.ly team is “all-in” on this partnership. The entire team inclusive of the founders and 45 employees have joined Automattic as of the closing date of Feb 8, 2021.

What are the terms of the acquisition?

Subject to the terms of the purchase agreement we aren’t disclosing financial details, but can confirm that it is the largest enterprise deal in Automattic’s history to date.

What is required to close the acquisition and what is the timing?

The acquisition is dependent on customary closing and regulatory conditions and has closed as of Feb 8, 2021.
